In 1943 HMS Belfast would have 26 men working in a confined space at once! This warship has triple gun turrets. Hms Belfast was built in March 1938. In 1943 was North Cape HMS Belfast was sent to destroy the Germen ship Scharnhorst with other English ships, they sunk it with great success. The sailors said “The smell was horrible it smelt of sweat and cheesy feet. The noise was ridiculously loud so they had to wear ear muffs.”
